Welcome to the latest episode on the Biz in Poland podcast. With the recent formation of a new government under Premier Minister Donald Tusk from PO, the business landscape in Poland is buzzing with both high expectations and a certain degree of uncertainty. This new coalition government, comprising three different political parties, brings an element of unpredictability regarding policy changes in 2024 and beyond.
Business reforms in Poland
In a recent announcement, Premier Minister Tusk unveiled some key reforms impacting the business environment in Poland. A major shift for entrepreneurs is the change in income tax policy. Now, income tax will be payable only upon the receipt of funds from paid invoices, rather than at the invoice issuance. This change is part of a broader package of laws designed to support entrepreneurs, with immediate implementation.
Additionally, Tusk addressed the challenges faced by micro-entrepreneurs, announcing a ‘vacation’ policy. This initiative is aimed at alleviating the financial burden and honouring the dignity of these hardworking individuals by waiving contributions when their business is inactive, acknowledging their right to rest.

Another significant reform is the limitation on the duration of inspections for micro-entrepreneurs. This measure aims to reduce the pressures of unwarranted and prolonged scrutiny that many independent operators face.
In a move highlighting regional development, Tusk announced the establishment of a Polish Ministry of Industry in Silesia, signalling a focus on this voivodeship as a potential industrial hub not only for Poland but for Europe.
These initiatives mark just the beginning of the new government’s approach to business in Poland. We anticipate more developments, which we hope will further enhance the entrepreneurial environment.
